Warren’s work centers on cognitive task analysis of complex information intensive tasks completed by professionals and consumers using software. He enjoys structuring human ambiguity with rigorous documentation of how people frame their tasks, source information and make decisions or decide what warrants their attention next. His work explains the task flow itself, human motivation and the opportunity landscape for future product, marketing and general brand positioning.
He has extensive experience working within matrixed organizations on cross-functional teams as a staff market / user researcher with Thomson Reuters and Expedia. With these organizations he advised design changes to consumer web and app interfaces, formed task flow and knowledge maps, tested online and print advertising, advised brand positioning and advised software and search engine experiments.
He is also skilled in design research (usability), market surveying, clarifying user motivations and product positioning.
Warren’s research career launched as a Market Research MS graduate of the University of Wisconsin with research roles in database marketing, consumer banking and packaged goods. He soon discovered a talent researching information intensive task flows and related business decisions shaping his career focus and the assistance he can provide to your organization.
